

Salem — Most of us have become familiar with current methods of paranormal investigation through television shows like “Ghost Hunters” and “Paranormal State.” The North Shore has its own team of ghost detectives – North Shore Paranormal Investigations.
NSPI was founded by Jim LaValley in 2009, along with co-founder and girlfriend Melissa Penta. LaValley had personal experience with the paranormal as a young boy. The group’s slogan, “We Always Work in the Dark,” carries a double meaning – they investigate at night, and secondly, they don’t easily endorse what can’t be scientifically proven. In other words, they aren’t content coming up with maybes – they’re interested in uncovering the real thing....
