For our final week of Urban Legend adventures, photographer Joel Andrews and I traveled to the Peavy House nestled in the woods off Highway 94 west, hoping for a “white noise” encounter with one of the many spirits who, according to a local ghost hunter, linger inside.
As we walked up the rocky drive, the undergrowth threatened to swallow me whole as I stepped over downed trees. Following closely behind R.I.P.P. (Renegades Investigating Paranormal Phenomenon) paranormal investigator Diane Broussard, I made a mental note that my shoe selection — two-inch heels — was not the right choice for this particular adventure. I’d make do.
