Byron Bay is one of Australia's most appealing places. It is exceptional. Byron is a geographic masterpiece that faces North on the South Pacific Ocean, it is in a semi tropical climate zone, has a headland that is the most Easterly point on the Australian mainland and is in a pristine rural community that is the exact opposite of the world's most famous cities.
Matching the migrating Humpback Whales who pass Byron on their way up and later down the warm Australian Coast, the World's travellers migrate to Byron Bay. On any day or night foreign languages, faces and clothing are abundant on the short main street of Byron Bay which stops abruptly at the Ocean. The migratory humans mix and enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere. Apart from the school holiday riots created by 10,000 school leavers, Byron is a peaceful place and travellers of all ages go out of their way to get there. Greyhound Buses deposit and collect the huge batches of visitors.altIt is not surprising that in a beautiful place where foreigners and locals mix that people are stimulated to explore the unknowns such as the "meaning of life"
On this Friday night, "Karen", who runs the local UFO Research Group had a special guest at her meeting hall which is a converted factory in the Byron Industrial Estate on the main road into town. Her guest was Glennys Mackay.
Glennys Mackay is listed as the Australian leader of the UFO investigation - appreciation group MUFON.
About 75 paying customers, supporters and friends gathered to hear Glennys Mackay talk about UFO's, the "afterlife", miraculous healing by UFO contacts and more. For three hours the group listened to Glennys talk about her own apparent cure from cancer by a person sent by or who was actually an alien, her visits to Hawaii where cliffs open to allow flying machines to come and go and how Yowies may be the escaped pets of UFO pilots.
