Long after the dead bolts are down and the beer taps become still, one regular at the Imperial Hotel settles in for the night. So potential buyers of the century old Eumundi hotel heed the warning.
“Margaret” is one little lady no one has yet been able to get to leave.
The Imperial Hotel, one of the Sunshine Coast's most famous historic pubs, is back on the market after several previous appearances over recent years.
“Margaret” too has made several appearances, ensuring many of the Imperial staff stipulate “upstairs” is no longer on their agenda. But manager of three years Terry Morris is yet to see the 30-something apparition in the white dress.
“We're not sure whether she was burned in the fire or whether she was run over by a horse and cart back in the day,” Mr Morris said.
