This is the moment a photographer captured a rare ice rainbow in the sky above the Isle of Wight that left people wondering if they had witnessed a UFO.
The phenomenon known as a 'sundog' was seen hovering over the bay of Cowes on the northern coast of the island on Saturday, creating an intense streak of coloured light in the clouds.
A 'sundog' is formed as sunlight passes through ice crystals in the atmosphere which are usually present when thin, wispy cirrus clouds are gathering.
