Known as the original “Ghost Whisperer” (the TV show that was based on his abilities and for which he was a consultant), James Van Praagh is an expert in communicating messages from the grave. He is known as a survival evidence medium, meaning that he has the ability to bridge the gap between two planes of existence, that of the living and the dead.
On Sunday, April 3, at 8 p.m. at The Ridgefield Playhouse in a one-night-only event, the medium James Van Praagh will demonstrate his rare talent. He will select people from the audience to take part in the calling of the spirits. This event is underwritten by Benziger Winery. There will be a complimentary Benziger wine tasting in the lobby from 7 – 8 p.m.
James is an expert on the subject of life after death as he has been in touch with his unique feelings most of his adult life. “I’m clairsentient, which simply means clear feeling. I feel the emotions and personalities of the deceased. I am also clairvoyant”, explains Van Praagh. “The first is feeling, the second is seeing, very much like Whoopi Goldberg in the movie, Ghost”. James’ public popularity began during his appearances on the NBC talk show The Other Side, which focused on paranormal issues. The Los Angeles Times television critic Howard Rosenberg dubbed James “spectacular”.
