Performers: Richard Avery, front, and Neil King
His daughter's close encounter with a UFO – during a flight from France – unsurprisingly grabbed Neil King's attention. The actor, one half of the Beverley theatre company Other Lives Productions, has incorporated the story into a supernatural collection, which will be performed across this East Riding this November and December.
"My eldest daughter and her husband were on the plane back from a holiday in France, when they noticed these spherical objects flying close-by," said Neil, who describes himself as "agnostic" on the issue.
"They were red, with black crosses on them like hot cross buns.
"Neither of them are fanciful people at all. They thought they might mention it to the stewardess, but then decided not to."I think it is quite a common thing. People have these experiences but they do not want to talk about them. They do not want to appear fools."
The story is part of a series of supernatural tales – including that of a monk reputed to haunt Beverly Friary – which are being performed by Neil and fellow actor Richard Avery.
