When a fed-up vicar was driven round the bend by car troubles, he decided to call upon a higher power. But instead of appealing to the lord almighty, he harnessed the power of YouTube.

Reverend Neil Barker released a video in protest at the problems with his Skoda Fabia car - and his local garage for failing to sort out the problem. The vicar, from Modbury, Devon, bought the Skoda in January 2009.

But he soon began having problems with the power steering, which failed without warning, and the braking system. Reverend Barker, who has to travel to do pastoral visits and takes services at eight churches, said the vehicle was 'dangerous' to drive.

To register his discontent, he made an 81 second video clip called Skoda Service featuring text and images to highlight the faults with the car. The clip, which has been watched 124 times, opens with a picture of the Skoda badge set to a backdrop of dramatic piano music.

He then rearranges the letters of the words Skoda on the screen to make the words 'sad ok' and 'do ask'. Then the phrase: 'I shall tell you' appears as the camera pans out from the car dashboard, followed by the words 'a sad tale'.

He then lists the problems with the car, which include the power assisted steering failing and the automatic braking system failing light continuously coming on. The clip ends with a quote from Skoda which reads 'we don't just make cars, we manufacture happy drivers'.

Reverend Barker concludes: 'Really? Not this one.'
