More than two years after she vanished from a Portuguese resort, the latest digitally-aged images show the dramatic effect different climates may have had on her appearance.
The picture above right depicts her as a six-year-old who has been smuggled into North Africa. There were a cluster of potential sightings of Madeleine in Morocco within days of her disappearance.
Her hair is darker as any abductor could have dyed it to make her less noticeable.
On the left, she appears as if she had been kept in a colder climate.
Psychologists have warned that being raised in a different culture may have left her with no memory of life with parents Kate and Gerry.
The dramatic images were unveiled yesterday as British police launched a worldwide internet video campaign to shame her captors into coming forward.
