A newscast from May 1984 in which a toaster was possessed by the devil has been making renewed rounds online in recent days. Here is the full context of the story – with the possessed toaster at the end. A news piece about the supermarket tabloids of the time, including interviews with a woman who claimed to be abducted by aliens and a man who said a Howdy Dowdy doll rescued him from drowning. It’s a pretty insightful TV news story about 1980s tabloids aired on the Today Show, and the toaster makes it so worth watching through to the end.
