The Nazis are back, they've got a moon base and they're in cahoots with a 'Sarah Palin' president

It began as a flippant idea in a sauna. ‘Let’s make a movie about Nazis on the Moon!’ Yet Iron Sky, a low-budget satirical sci-fi movie about Nazis who live on the dark side of the Moon, which had to be partly financed by fans dipping into their own pockets, is generating a seismic buzz.
It sold more tickets than the new Angelina Jolie film at the recent Berlin Film Festival and the finished product is a funny, smart attack on world politics, featuring an American President who bears a striking resemblance to Sarah Palin. In Iron Sky’s spoof of history, at the end of WWII the Nazis fled Earth to live on the Moon, where they’ve since built a fortress, complete with a swastika-shaped lunar station.
They are led by an officious ‘Moon Führer’, who commands female stormtroopers. It’s now 2018, and they’re ready to invade Earth. ‘There was a bit of an outrage on YouTube when the first trailer came out,’ says Finnish director Timo Vuorensola.
