The day after Friday the 13th and two days after his 77th birthday, mentalist and late night show staple (of Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, the list goes on), the Amazing Kreskin, arrives at the Zeiterion. A superstitious person's bound to get nervous.
Luckily, the Amazing Kreskin isn't superstitious — despite the fact that his role as an entertainer is all about reading minds, making predictions and turning Jimmy Fallon into a human board (watch it on YouTube).
"I get a kick out of working that day," he says of Friday the 13th.
Kreskin also enjoys, but doesn't take seriously, these "doomsday predictions" — such as Harold Camping's Rapture promise for May 21 last year (which obviously didn't happen), or like this year's supposed Mayan calendar blowout on Dec. 21, 2012.
"Some people are making more of it, but I always throw parties the day after the end of the world," he quips.
Let's make this clear: the Amazing Kreskin is no fortuneteller (he calls his acts "tests" and not "tricks"), and he's not going to bring people back from the dead. He just picks up on things in a way that seems supernatural or psychic.....
