From the phantom hitchhiker, to the grey man, the Pee Dee and coastal regions of South Carolina have always been rich in spooky and sometimes downright scary stories that have permeated through the centuries.
For Johnsonville resident Sherman Carmichael, mining those stories throughout his life has been a passion, but this year, the long time paranormal enthusiast was able to take his knowledge of strange tales and finally bring them together through the written word.
Forgotten Tales of South Carolina is a collection of over 100 stories that Carmichael has painstakingly researched and pored over in order to get the local angle for accounts that most readers have heard of, but never seen the entire context of.
